Maidenhead Thicket bowls club enjoyed mixed fortunes over the weekend.

They lost on Saturday to a wonderful Hurst side. The only winning rink was that of Joan and Malcolm Summers, skipped by Tommy Hanks.

Sunday saw their Home fixture against Desborough spread over both clubs' greens to allow for maximum playing numbers.

On a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon Thicket hosted Bassetsbury Manor B.C. for the first friendly match of the season. The match was played in good spirit with lots of laughs observing all the Covid Rules and a welcoming cup of tea at half time with some yummy cake. Thicket came out the winners but that was irrelevant as it was agreed we were all winners being able to play bowls after such a long wait #backtobowls #lovelawnbowls #bowlsengland
