This week saw the beginning of the Men's and Ladies County Competitions.

Richard Thrift Tommy Hanks and Skip Bill Hing won their preliminary round of the Triples well done to them. Abbie Yanacopolis fought a hard battle against Eileen Faulkner in her unbadged game and was narrowly defeated. Meanwhile Jenny Bosley pulled off a great win against Yvonne Hurley of Windsor & Eton. Well done to all competitors

This year's Royal Shield is not being played in the same format as usual because of the Pandemic and no points or the Trophy are being awarded. Nevertheless the rivalry and competitive spirit were still evidenced when Thicket played Desborough in the first game of the season. Despite losing on 2 rinks Thicket managed to win by 5 shots 58.43

Winning Rink was Pauline Tuttle, Tina Scherer and skip Maggie Scrace .

Maidenhead Thicket bowls club enjoyed mixed fortunes over the weekend.

They lost on Saturday to a wonderful Hurst side. The only winning rink was that of Joan and Malcolm Summers, skipped by Tommy Hanks.

Sunday saw their Home fixture against Desborough spread over both clubs' greens to allow for maximum playing numbers.

Thicket took the honours. Winning 132 - 67. Top rink was that of Pam Pulsford, Sheila Gwilliam, Terry Davies, Skipped by Kevin Scrace.
