Weekend of two halves

Maidenhead Thicket bowls club enjoyed mixed fortunes over the weekend.

They lost on Saturday to a wonderful Hurst side. The only winning rink was that of Joan and Malcolm Summers, skipped by Tommy Hanks.

Sunday saw their Home fixture against Desborough spread over both clubs' greens to allow for maximum playing numbers.

Thicket took the honours. Winning 132 - 67. Top rink was that of Pam Pulsford, Sheila Gwilliam, Terry Davies, Skipped by Kevin Scrace.

On Saturday 25th September Thicket held their closing day game which was for the Chris Pheby Trophy the winner was John Burton . Afterwards the members enjoyed a cream tea with cake and sandwiches. T
