Social Events

The club organises social evenings througout the year. During the off season these are typically quiz or bingo nights. During the playing season there is often a social pairs evening. Fish and chips or kebabs can be ordered in by contacting the organiser beforehand. Please see the members social WhatsApp group (Friday Night Social) for details of the next event.

Peter Robb-King has been at the forefront as a make-up artist, make-up supervisor and later, Head of Department, for some of the biggest names in cinema: Laurence Olivier, Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, Sigourney Weaver and Tim Curry to name but a handful (for Curry, he helped create an iconic character in Frank-N-Furter on The Rocky Horror Picture Show). He also laid his hand upon both Matrix sequels, helping to further the surreal look of those films.

In 1993 Peter won the BAFTA Award for Best Make-up Artist, for his exceptional work on The Last of the Mohicans. Peter has also been nominated for an Oscar and many other awards, but for the fans, it’s his work on Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi that is a career standout.
