MORE SUCCESS FOR THICKET

Over a week since I have been able to update with results so apologies have had a busy week with one thing and another.
Ladies Triples got through their first round but were sadly defeated from a strong trio from Bracknell. The men's four however, had a good win in their game against Bracknell and go on to the next round.
The other ladies triples team travelled to Great Holland for their second round where they had a tough game in very difficult conditions and unfortunately came second.
Gemma Hanks won her unbadged and now moves on to a quarter final match against our very own Pam Pulsford, good luck to both of them sadly one of you will have to leave the competition.
Kevin and Terry were playing Gordon and Stewart Wright from Maidenhead Town in the National Pairs but failed to make it through.
Dave Crooks won his unbadged singles so onwards to the next round.
Both the men's pairs won their matches on Thursday evening.
The ladies Fours Tina Pauline Jenny and Chris H had a tough game against a strong team from Maidenhead Town and sadly lost their way after being in front and lost 14 20
The other ladies Fours of Nicola Elaine Sue and Gemma had a close game against ladies from Windsor and Eton and managed to sneak a win on the last end.
Unfortunately on Monday (28th) they were up against another strong team from the town and after a very close game failed to get the win.
Well done to all the ladies they have had a lot of games in a very short time and have all done brilliantly
Pauline and Tina travelled to Three Mile Cross for their pairs and were involved in a very close game and much to their surprise they pulled off the win.
The men's double fours had a good win at home and away at Great Holland. They play Reading next on the 26th July
The men's fours had a good win against Bracknell and face a strong 4 from Tilehurst at home on the 4th July
Last but no means least Melvyn Forward a stalwart of the Thicket Team finally got given his County Badge at Woodly last Wednesday having been delayed because of Covid restrictions last year
We have also played several friendly games with mixed results and also gained some new members .
Good Luck to all those playing in County Competitions over the next few weeks and Welcome to our new members hope you enjoy playing at #TEAM THICKET
