LAWN BOWLS AT MAIDENHEAD THICKET
Maidenhead Thicket Bowling Club is a small friendly club located just 2 miles from Maidenhead Town Centre off the A4 towards Reading. Directions are here.
We are always keen to welcome new members and offer potential members the chance to 'roll up' with experienced members before they join to see if it is the game for them.
Opening Day: Sunday 13th April at 2pm
The 2025 season started with our annual Opening Day game.
Our President and Ladies Captain "broke the ice" and delivered the first two bowls of the season.
Following on, all the bowlers took up a position around the perimeter of the green, with one foot in the surrounding ditch, to play the 'Spider' game. (Closest bowl to the jack in the centre of the green wins a prize) Well done to Jamie who was the winner.
The green is now available for practise roll ups in preparation for a busy season of league games and friendlies, as well as competition matches too.
If you think you would like to have a go at playing outdoor lawn bowls then do GET IN TOUCH with us and we will meet you for a roll up. No special equipment required - just flat soled shoes. We can provide bowls.
We play mixed friendly matches on most weekends during the season and some evenings (April - September)
We also have league matches several times a week for the more competitive members.
Members can now book a rink for a roll up etc by using the Bowlr button on the website.
Fixtures and competitions are listed here.
